I looked up and there he was…a barred owl. As I watched him quietly roosting in a tree, I had a thought.
To me, animals seem so confident and sure of themselves.
I suspect this owl wasn’t wondering if he were adept enough or skilled enough to find his next meal, or locate a nesting site, or attract a mate. He confidently followed his intuition.
I thought of times in my life when I knew something was mine to do, yet I hesitated and faltered, allowing fear to stop me.
Fear is an interesting phenomenon. In its primal form, it keeps us safe from danger. But it can also limit our lives, stopping us from experiencing new and wonderful things.
Perhaps this beautiful owl was a reminder to ongoingly examine my fears…to look at what stops me from living my best life.
Something to ponder…inspired by a magnificent owl.
