As I watched this beautiful kestrel resting and preening, I had a thought. Animals instinctively know when it’s time to stop and care for themselves. Their very survival depends upon it.
Our human bodies are also designed to let us know what they need in order to operate optimally. I recognize that I sometimes ignore the signals and push myself beyond my physical capabilities, often with a less than desirable outcome.
Perhaps the bird serves as a reminder to honor the body’s innate intelligence and follow its natural guidance. In truth, our body is an important partner in this life adventure and must be ongoingly cared for.
I suspect it’s time to pay more attention to my physicality.
I’m grateful for the reminder…inspired by a beautiful bird.
