This lovely duck, warmed by the winter sun, gracefully floated at the edge of a pond. As I watched her, I realized she was relaxing into the spirit of the season.
In the natural world, winter is a time of intense quiet when nature turns inward and rests.
I was reminded that this is the time for us, as well, to slow the pace of life and slip into the quiet. And to perhaps feel the deep yearnings of soul, and listen for the whispers of what’s to come.
So in the company of this beautiful mallard, I melted into the beauty all around. No questions, no wonderings…simply lost in the grace-filled winter silence.
And my heart smiled…
