This tiny bird is called a Common Yellow Throat, but in my mind there’s nothing common about him. Usually very fast moving and elusive, I was delighted to spot him sitting on a branch for a brief moment.
He looked my way, and his expression said it all. I was on his turf, and he’d prefer that I move along. I smiled and continued walking.
The more I wander, the more I appreciate how special the natural world is. Such beautiful and unique residents, with personalities and opinions and thoughts. More like us than not, I suspect.
Day by day, as I move deeper and deeper into the natural world, I’m beginning to feel more at home. What a privilege it is to experience the Earth’s family and to feel a part of it.
I’m very grateful…
