He was on the move one blustery morning…a beautiful great blue heron. Feathers blowing in the wind, he determinedly marched across a field in search of breakfast.
Shivering in my warmest coat, I watched the heron face the adverse weather. And I had a thought.
Weather is a human concept. And we humans spend a fair amount of time discussing it.
But in the natural world, outdoor conditions are simply what is…various combinations of air, earth, fire, and water. The animals, plants, and trees live amidst the Earth’s elements and adapt as needed. No complaints.
Perhaps I could follow their lead and appreciate the elements for what they are…the building blocks of life.
I smiled and wished the heron well. And with a new perspective, I wandered on…
