I watched him streak across the sky…a beautiful kestrel.
He stopped suddenly, high above a field rapidly flapping his wings. Then with full force he dove, attempting to catch his prey. Again and again, sometimes successful, sometimes not.
I admired his persistence. I suspected life wasn’t easy for him…facing the elements, endlessly searching for food, eluding predators.
And I had a thought. This fierce bird was a reminder of the presence of the life force… that intangible loving force that breathes us in each moment and forwards life no matter what.
I suspect that when we’re faced with adversity, it’s this mysterious life force that propels us to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again.
Something to ponder…inspired by a beautiful kestrel.
