I almost stepped on him, but fortunately I spotted him before any squashing happened.
I would have felt terrible knowing I ended the life of this lovely little cucumber beetle, no bigger than a ladybug. Cucumber beetles are often viewed as agricultural pests, but to me, they have a spirit.
I believe every being on the planet is important and has a purpose in the grand design. And life in any form is precious.
So today I’m reminded to be careful where I step. There’s a whole world of tiny beings sharing the planet with us.
And they deserve consideration and respect.
