I almost missed him. This little golden-crowned sparrow was well hidden among the wet decaying leaves. Animals are very good at camouflage.
And as I quietly watched him, I had a wondering…how did this little bird know where to hide? How did he know the leaves were the perfect color to help conceal him from predators? Instinct, yes, but perhaps more…
It seems the natural world is filled with compelling mysteries authored by an intelligence well beyond human understanding. And like the sirens of old, the Earth ongoingly beckons us to join Her in Her beautifully mysterious paradise.
