One evening, as I watched a duck mother gather her ducklings, I had a thought. She and her mallard partner knew when it was time to build their nest and when it was time to mate. And they will instinctively know when it’s time to let their children go. They act on their innate knowing, following the natural rhythms of the Earth.
I know that we humans possess the same innate wisdom about natural timing. At points in my life, I’ve recognized it was time to act, yet I hesitated. My fear of a misstep and resistance to change caused me much anxiety and worry.
What if I had simply listened for the timing, and confidently acted on my knowing? No resistance. Just an easy flow, so well modeled in the natural world. I suspect I might have suffered less, and enjoyed my life more.
I have a new goal…
