It was last May when I spotted this baby chickadee sitting in his nest, looking out the window. If he could have smiled, I believe he would have, but his immature beak prevented the grin I felt from him. Preparing to leave the nest, his whole life was ahead of him. I suspected that he was excited and perhaps a bit nervous at the same time.
This little chickadee reflects my own journey in this moment. Shortly I’ll be headed to Scotland to explore three of my favorite islands, Iona, Skye, and Mull. And I suspect that I’ll be engaging with the Earth and the natural world in a manner unlike anything I’ve experienced before.
Like the chickadee, I’m excited and a bit nervous. Faith and trust will be my traveling companions as the adventure unfolds.
My hope is to occasionally blog and post photos along the way, sharing my experiences as best I can. So, as I fasten my seat belt, I ask for your support as I move into the unknown.
I’m very grateful for the opportunity…
