We all have one…a past. Some parts we relish, other parts we’d prefer to forget. All part of the human experience. I was thinking about that as I watched this raccoon scour the riverbank for food.
I suspected he wasn’t dwelling on his history or feeling shame or regret. No endless loop of second guessing or recriminations for him. When you live moment by moment, there’s no space for the past.
And I aspire to that.
Will Rogers once said, ‘Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.’
Perhaps he and the raccoon are on to something…
