As a child, Halloween captured my imagination unlike any other holiday. The thrill of wandering dark streets guided only by flashlights, wearing creatively crafted costumes, anticipating a treasure trove of candy…it was all breathlessly exciting.
Most days, that fanciful child I once was seems a distant memory. With adult worries and responsibilities, I suspect there’s not much space for that part of me that still holds my hopes and dreams.
But much to my delight, that young aspect briefly appeared yesterday as I found myself gazing at a myriad of spiderwebs draped across plants. And I was once again 7 years old, thrilled to be alive and having a grand adventure.
It was so nice to be with her again…
