To him, every tree was familiar…a resting place, an oasis, his home. I thought about that as I watched this beautiful pileated woodpecker search for insects. He knew the trees like I know my neighborhood streets and sidewalks.
And I had a thought. Each time I enter a natural space, I embark on a journey to another world. A world of wonder and grace shared by so many unique and delightful beings.
And in this beautiful place, I change. My heart opens, my perspective alters, and my worldly concerns dissolve. And some of that grace remains with me when I re-enter the everyday world.
I am beyond grateful…the natural world is such a gift.
