I begin each day in the silence, a meditation practice to connect with the Divine. Some days, my experience is deep and profound. Other days it’s clouded by my busy mind and distracted thoughts.
Today, I encountered this beautiful heron, a bird who spends much of his day in the silence. I tried to match his stillness as he remained completely motionless for 10 minutes. I found myself drawn in and mesmerized by his intensely quiet state. I experienced a level of calm and contentment like I’ve never felt before.
When the heron finally moved to snatch a fish, I was jolted out of my hypnotic state. I snapped a picture, and thanked the heron for the lesson on being truly still.
What an amazing experience...
