There he sat quietly munching…a lovely little rabbit. Such a gentle creature.
As I watched him, I had a memory of another gentle being I met on a forest path…a young man.
As he approached, I noticed a small dog perched in his backpack, peering over his shoulder. I smiled at the incongruous sight.
He explained that his dog was old, but she still loved to walk in the woods. So, he let her walk as far as she could, and then he carried her the rest of the way.
I was so touched by his kindness, and the loving way he spoke of his dog who had been his friend since childhood. Pure devotion...
I suspect that kind and loving acts far outweigh unkind ones. And many gentle souls live among us. How grateful I was to meet one that morning.
I smiled and wandered on…
