My heart skipped a beat as this beautiful harrier hawk landed not far ahead of me. I cautiously approached her, and for several moments she stared at me, and then flew off. I can still feel her penetrating gaze. Such an amazing encounter…
As I continued walking, I pondered the idea of chance encounters. Over time, I’ve had so many with nature beings, and with humans, as well.
I suspect that each encounter is important, regardless of duration or species.
Perhaps it’s an opportunity to strengthen the connections between us. And who knows? Maybe a few kind words and a smile shared with a stranger could help change the world.
Maybe it’s just that simple…
