This week I’ve been reacquainting myself with my favorite wandering places. So many baby animals with proud parents, blooming trees, and lovely flowers…it’s been a very enjoyable time.
A few days ago, I spotted this beautiful snipe, only the second one I’ve ever seen up close. Known for being shy and elusive, I was surprised and grateful he allowed me into his world.
As I watched him and listened to his haunting call, I felt myself slip into that space where thoughts disappear and time melts away. And I relished the feeling of complete contentment.
I suspect that in that moment I was no longer my ordinary self. For a brief time, I felt connected to everything, and free from human concerns.
My dream is to live from that place…a place where all is well no matter the circumstance. A place where I fully recognize that adversity arises only to provide learning, and I know I’m completely loved and cared for.
How very grateful I am to the lovely snipe for the reminder that it’s possible…
