There he sat, warming himself in the glimmer of sunlight that slipped through the clouds. This beautiful bald eagle took my breath away.
As he sat motionless on a branch, I suspected he was just appreciating…not wishing for more or less or different.
Animals don’t have if only thoughts. If only the rain would stop, if only it were warmer…they live in the as is. They trust and rely on the Earth’s divine guidance, relaxed in the knowing that all is taken care of.
Wise beings have offered that we, too, are always cared for, though that belief has yet to take full hold in my worry-prone human mind.
But that morning, in those moments with the eagle, my if only thoughts dissolved and I entered a world of as is, assured that all is well.
I was grateful for the respite...and thankful for the magnificent eagle.
