I heard rustling in the brush, and then I spotted this fledgling robin peering through the foliage. I quietly moved several feet away, not wanting to frighten him.
Then I noticed his mother perched on a branch. She swooped to the ground and fed him as he sat quietly.
And I knew all was well.
I’ve read that some baby birds spend several days on the ground learning valuable skills, such as flying, finding food, and identifying predators. While they’re on the ground, they’re cared for and protected by their parents.
What a great reminder that the Earth has a plan for every one of Her creatures, be it plant, animal, stone, or human. That wonderfully mysterious Divine plan filled with wonder, hope, promise, and joy.
Once again, I was in awe…
