If a man hadn’t pointed them out, I would have missed them…a family of raccoons tucked away, sleeping on tree branches. Amazing! I kept my distance so I wouldn’t disturb their slumber. As I quietly watched the raccoons, I had a wondering.
Perhaps like other animal sightings, the raccoons were a reminder of something. There I stood in the hush of winter, the Earth resting all around me…and then I remembered. Winter is the time for dreaming…a time for imagining the future.
A time for uncovering our secret hopes and desires and longings. For imagining all possibilities, and co-creating a vision with the Divine.
So now I ponder in the deep quiet. What do I long for for myself and our world...what healings, what blessings, what changes? What stirs in the depths of my heart?
I thank the raccoon family...and I begin to dream.
