There he was…a beautiful wood duck flaunting a patchwork of colorful feathers. So unique.
As I watched him paddle downstream, I realized I’ve met many unique beings in my wanderings. Animals, plants, trees, stones, and humans…such a delight.
Yet uniqueness can be challenging, particularly in the human realm. We sometimes fear what seems unlike us.
I suspect that uniqueness is actually a gift. It affords an opportunity to look within and recognize that we’re alike at the core…in our hearts, where our true nature resides.
As the lovely duck disappeared around a bend, I smiled, grateful for the reminder…
