As I wandered in a winter garden yesterday, my thoughts drifted to the new year, a time for fresh starts according to our human calendar. And I wondered…what would I like to change in my life?
My thoughts were interrupted by this beautiful bird peering through the branches. And as I watched him, I knew he wasn’t reflecting on the past or pondering his future.
For him, life exists moment to moment. And it’s in each moment that he discovers his next right action, guided by the Earth.
I smiled, realizing he was living the perfect life. And with that knowing, my thoughts of New Year’s resolutions faded away.
I happily wandered on…grateful to the little bird for the wisdom.
