There he was flying high above me, scanning the landscape for his next meal…a magnificent bald eagle. He landed in a tree, remaining watchful.
I’ve read that eagles have incredible vision. They can manipulate their eyes to mimic the zoom function of a camera. Imagine being able to see small details from two miles above the Earth. What perspective they must have.
As I continued wandering, my thoughts strayed to the idea of perspective in the human world. In my humanness, I don’t necessarily take time to consider other people’s viewpoints. I can become rigid and unyielding, so sure my own ideas are correct.
I suspect the eagle’s presence was a reminder of the importance of considering others’ perspectives and seeing the bigger picture. Perhaps the key to compassion and cooperation. And resolutions that work for all.
