Last week I was entertained by a group of frogs in a shallow pond. As they competed with each other for insects, they loudly croaked and screeched and jumped. If one frog paddled too close to another, a very loud ruckus erupted. It was very funny.
I admired the frogs’ ability to express themselves. There was no holding back.
Later that afternoon, I was in the cereal aisle of my grocery store. I passed a mother pushing her cart and supervising her young son who was choosing cereal. Quite unexpectedly, the boy broke into a wild dance. After a few moments, he stopped and resumed studying the cereal boxes. His mother and I were both so startled that we couldn’t help but laugh.
Imagine feeling that free…free to express yourself without worrying about what others might think.
Maybe the little boy and the frogs are on to something.
Not that I’ll be dancing in the frozen food aisle any time soon, but maybe I could loosen up a bit. Maybe take life a little less seriously.
It couldn’t hurt….
