His iridescent feathers reflected the morning sunlight…a beautiful purple martin. Each spring, he and thousands of other martins migrate from South America to spend nesting season in North America.
On this six-week journey, these little birds fly 200 miles per day. Amazing…
And I wondered…how do they do it, year after year? No directions, no maps, no hotels, no creature comforts.
And after their babies fledge not long from now, these beautiful birds will begin their long trek back to South America to spend the winter.
Once again, I’m awestruck by the beings who inhabit the natural world. Such courage and stamina and determination and strength.
So inspiring…
