Yesterday I watched this chipmunk scurry around looking for food. Each time he found a morsel, he stopped and munched. I had a feeling he was content with his life. No worries about getting wet, or finding food and shelter, or meeting the perfect mate.
I suspect that animals trust that the Earth always takes care of them. They simply follow Her Divine guidance.
We humans have designed such complicated lives. We have created a myriad of things to worry about...finances, family, safety, health…so many concerns. Contentment is elusive and fleeting.
I admire the beings who live in the natural world. I suspect they have a strong faith in the Divine plan, as they exude a feeling of well being. I envy their contentment and long to know their secret.
So many lessons from the natural world…I’m grateful to the chipmunk for the reminder about faith.
