Celebrating

They seemed to be celebrating…dozens of robins chirping excitedly, enjoying the berries. Taking turns feasting, they gracefully moved from branch to branch.

The natural world is filled with grace…an energy field of hope and love and unlimited possibilities.

Wise beings suggest that human holidays were created as special windows of grace. A time to celebrate our lives, to wish for blessings for all, and to give thanks.

This year, I celebrate with an abundance of gratitude, and I ask for grace for all beings who reside on our beautiful planet.

And I know in my heart that gratitude and grace can change the world…

Mystery

I noticed this charming little squirrel snatching acorns from the ground, munching on some, and burying others. His various acorn caches would provide food for another day, while the nuts buried but forgotten may sprout into oak trees.

Aristotle once said, ‘Nature does nothing without purpose.’

I’m endlessly amazed by the perfection of the Earth. Every purposeful action serves to assure the perpetuation of life. To me, there’s so much mystery surrounding the design and interconnectedness of all the Earth’s beings.

Left alone, the Earth knows exactly what She’s doing. And as I wander, I’m grateful when She sometimes reveals Her secrets.

Birds

I love birds. This beautiful robin was a delight to watch as he splashed around at the edge of a pond.

I suspect that birds are ambassadors for the Earth. Like the sirens of old, they remind us to take notice of the natural world.

The Spirit of the Earth is everywhere…among the trees and animals and plants and stones all around us.

Perhaps every chirp and every caw is designed to entice us, and to call us back to nature.

And She’s always there, waiting, ready to welcome us home.
