True Nature

He looked confident and self-assured, this beautiful hawk. I suspect he felt comfortable in his own skin. No thoughts of being better or different. Created perfectly, he lived as his divine nature.

We, too, enter this life created perfectly. But our authentic selves can become obscured by patterns and fears learned in our everyday world.

Wise beings assure us that our true nature is always there…loving, generous, compassionate, kind, forgiving, and grateful.

Watching the hawk, I realized that he has what I’m seeking. Full connection with my own divine nature.

How reassuring to know it’s possible…

Gliding over the wetlands, she searched for her next meal…this beautiful harrier.

I realized her days were filled with challenges, yet she gracefully moved forward. And I wondered...what fueled her persistence?

I suspect that she instinctively relied on an unseen force. A divinely creative energy that breathes us and lovingly forwards life in every moment.

In these challenging times, I find myself relying upon this force more and more for inspiration and strength and wisdom and resilience. Always there…

I took a breath, and with a sense of gratitude, I wandered on…

Kinship

As I watched this beautiful grebe paddle around a pond, I had a thought. His needs weren’t much different from mine…food, water, a home, love and acceptance, companionship, a sense of safety and belonging.

What if we recognized that we’re all more alike than different? And what if we treated each other as family, regardless of species, or place of origin, or beliefs, or language, or appearance?

I imagine a world in which every being matters, and everyone belongs.

In my heart of hearts, I know it’s possible…
