One very windy morning I spotted this egret fishing by a stream. As I watched his feathers blow, I wondered if the wind bothered him. I suspected not, as he appeared relaxed, taking the high winds in stride.
And I had a thought. How many times have I fought the winds…not the blowing winds but the winds of life.
As I continued walking, I remembered something I heard years ago. When the wind blows, don’t fight it. Lean in and let it take you, and lessons and blessings will arise.
Perhaps the winds of life, the challenges, are not an enemy to battle. Maybe the wind simply clears the air allowing us to see beyond our emotions and preconceived ideas to help us move forward.
So perhaps the next time the wind arises in my life, I can relax and trust that inspiration is available to guide me in each moment.
And like the egret, I can simply take it in stride…
